16 January 2001
from Saab Bofors
Saab Bofors Dynamics AB in Karlskoga has been awarded a contract for a new
Swedish-developed training simulator for use with the BILL anti-tank
missile system. The order is valued at ca MSEK100, and it includes an
option for follow-on orders.
This procurement is seen as a clear signal that the Austrian Army has
taken the decision to retain the Swedish anti-tank missile system well in
to the future, and it will open the door to future orders.
"Austria has had the BILL system in service since 1989, and it is an
important customer. This is a strategically important order for us, and we
hope that it will lead to future orders for our latest anti-tank missile
BILL 2", says Ulf Ericsson, responsible within Saab Bofors in Karlskoga
for marketing the BILL system.
This new Swedish simulator provides an increased range of uses in training
scenarios. The simulator has been developed by Saab Training Systems in
