The Italian Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Saab Training
Systems AB for the GAMER instrumented training system

The Italian Ministry of Defence has placed an order worth approx.
40 million SEK with Saab Training Systems of Huskvarna, Sweden for the
instrumented training system GAMER and laser simulator systems to be
installed at the Army Armour School in Lecce.

The order, besides GAMER, also includes the supply of 26 BT46 laser
simulator systems, for the Leopard 1A5 Tank. More than 100 BT 46
systems, which were delivered in 2000, will be updated for use with the
GAMER system. Deliveries will be completed within the year 2002.

The GAMER instrumented training system, using radio data communication
between exercise participants and a base station, as well as GPS data,
will provide the Italian army with possibilities for increased realism
and enhanced evaluation capabilities, when training with laser
simulators.

"We are very pleased to now enter also the Italian market with the GAMER
system", says Hans Standár, Vice President Marketing. "Italy will become
the fourth major user of GAMER. Previously Norway, the Netherlands and
the USA have ordered systems based on GAMER.

The contract is an acknowledgement of the international competitiveness
of Saab Training Systems AB as a supplier of total systems and sub-
systems for army training. Within the last year, the company has
received substantial orders in the area also from the armies of Norway,
the Netherlands, and USA.
