British Army and Royal Air Force select training equipment from Saab

Saab Training Systems, Huskvarna, Sweden, has been awarded a contract
with the UK Ministry of Defence to deliver the Small Arms Transmitter
BT47 to the British Army and Royal Air Force.

- This is a breakthrough in small arms training at home base for the
British Army in Germany and the RAF based in the UK, says Mr Johan
Ohlson, President, Saab Training Systems.

The laser based training equipment will be used on small arms weapons in
force-on-force and home base training. Saab Training Systems has
previously delivered man worn target vests which will be upgraded to be
compatible with the new small arms transmitter.

The contract, worth approximately 20 million SEK, also includes
alignment devices and observer/controller equipment. Delivery will take
place in April and June 2003.

Saab is one of the world's leading high-technology companies, with its
main operations focusing on defence, aviation and space. The group
covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems
integration.
