Saab receive order worth MSEK 850 for IRIS-T missile

Saab Bofors Dynamics have received a production order from German Diehl BGT Defense (DBD) for subsystems of the IRIS-T IR-guided air-to-air missile worth approximately MSEK 850. IRIS-T, has been developed in an international joint project between Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Norway and Greece, under German management.

“This order is a result of a successful cooperation with our German partner DBD. Additionally, it strengthens our role as a supplier of advanced missile subsystems”, says company President Tomas Samuelsson.

The order involves production of the Signal Processing Unit and the Aircraft Interface Unit, which distributes signals between the aircraft and internally within the missile. The series production starts in 2005 and will be ongoing until 2011.
