The global exposure of our aerostructures and engineering philosophy continues at high speed. At the beginning of the year, we participated in the Aero India Airshow, exposing our highly rated composites technology, followed by the JEC in Paris. The next stop on the global Tour was Canada and an aerospace conference in Toronto at the beginning of June.
In Toronto, Saab was invited to give a presentation on advanced composites material and the way in which a technological step can change the platform for the supplier and the customer.
With an audience consisting of among others delegates from Bombardier, Boeing, Airbus and other members of the Canadian Aerospace cluster, we described the integrated multi-spar technology currently utilized on the Single Aisle Ailerons and how integration of composites, as we also can see in the Clean Sky and ALCAS programs and the B787 Cargo Doors project, is the way forward for composites and a means for us to stay ahead of the competition and the increasing pressure from emerging markets.
From the discussion created by the presentation, it became quite evident that the engineering specifics and the technology used for the integrated composites are well placed in the market. Furthermore, in the world of development and research programs, where similar technologies are being looked at, it needs to be emphasized that we have a proven technology, which has not only been in service with our customer for five years, but which is currently in full production for a single-aisle program.
