How did you end up at Saab?
I was hired as a consultant for a time to act as cover for an administrator who was off sick. It was one of my most enjoyable consulting assignments. When I later saw a job on the website I applied and got it!
What is a typical day like for you at Saab?
I begin my day by reading e-mails, going through my calendar and prioritising cases according to the degree of urgency. Then I review everything that needs to be done during the day. My days are extremely varied. Some days there are lots of meetings while other days are filled with creative problem-solving or following up on things, such as finance.
Name some of the challenges you enjoy most?
It is sometimes a huge challenge to plan a complex task that affects a lot of people and multiple systems. It feels really great afterwards when everything is in place and working.
What do you think it takes to be successful at Saab?
I think you have to be a problem-solver with the ability to communicate with other people and be willing to face up to changes.
How do you describe your work to your friends and family?
A fascinating job involving lots of problem-solving and personal responsibility. Lots of wonderful colleagues too. No two days are alike, so it is fun going to work.
