What advice would you give to someone applying for a job in your department?
Be prepared! You’re most likely going to have to hit the floor running. Working for an market area means you’re probably going to be a part of a small, but very dedicated Sales and Marketing team. Regardless of the position you will have in an market area it’s my belief that everyone here is a sales person and the name of the game is Order Intake. It’s an extremely dynamic environment where very few days are alike. You’ll be dealing with the full spectrum of tasks that concern any world leading high tech Industry … and more often than not … you will not look at your watch to see if it’s time to go home … you will be swept up in the action and it’s just great!
What do you think it takes to be successful at Saab?
Dedication, a strong work ethic and courage in the sense of taking on challenges and tasks that might not at first be something completely familiar to you.
What is a typical day like for you at Saab?
There really is no typical day … every day seems to bring something new and at 52 … I’m still learning, or at least I hope so.

Describe your journey at Saab!
I started as trainee, got educated in the finance department and I am currently working in Marketing & Sales at Market Area Asia Pacific.
It will of course depend a little bit on what field you are in, however, personal characteristics that I believe make people successful are drive, willingness to learn and cultural awareness.
What is it about your job that makes you feel, “how exciting to go to work!”, on a Monday morning?
There’s a wide variety in my day-to-day tasks which brings an element of refreshing unpredictability to my work. In many ways, our industry is unique. There is an entirely new dimension to our business cases that most other companies do not have. This complexity and political aspects at Saab are what keeps it interesting.
Many employees seem to stay with Saab for a long time, why do you think that is?
Our technology is cutting edge and we’re experts at what we do. Employees here can truly revel in cool research and products. I also believe that the high level of internal mobility that is encouraged keeps us on our toes and helps to alleviate boredom too.
