Why did you apply to the graduate programme?
I applied to the Saab Graduate Leadership programme at Saab AB since it is a company with technologies at the forefront, it makes a difference in the world and there is a possibility of advancing my career within the same company in different directions. However, the main factors as to why I applied to the graduate programme was that this sort of introduction to a professional career allows you to try out and understand different roles and departments across the company as well as establish a huge network in the beginning of my career.
What is it like to be a graduate at Saab?
Being a graduate at Saab is a great experience. You are warmly received to whatever part of the organization you visit and everybody I have met so far is more than willing to share their experiences. The fact that you also get to affect the programme’s layout with rotations is a great opportunity to customize the programme depending on your own wishes and interests.
What have you gained from participating in the graduate programme?
From visiting different business units, areas and sites around Sweden I have gained a broader understanding of Saab as a company. I have also established a massive network within the company and made new friends with the others in the Graduate group.
To whom would you recommend the programme?
I would recommend this programme to you if you are eager to get a good start to your professional career aim to progress within Saab, and love to challenge yourself and try different tasks. If you also have an ambition to become a leader in the future and would like to experience working abroad, the Saab Graduate Leadership programme is a perfect match for you.
What has been the most memorable experience so far?
The most memorable experiences so far are all the graduate team weeks, even though all my individual assignments and rotations have been truly magnificent. However, during the team weeks we have had lectures from senior people, performed case studies, attended seminars, and engaged in role plays among other things. During the team weeks we really get to challenge ourselves and get out of our comfort zone, which encourages your individual development and provides you with methods and tools that are important for leaders within Saab.
