What you will be a part of

Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.

We are looking to strengthen the Global Governance team for the business area. Business Area Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.

As Head of IT at Business Area Surveillance you will be part of a new unit, Governance, that holds the four functions Security Risk Management, Export Control, Operational Excellence and Quality Management and IT Governance.

Your role

You will be line manager for a small group of experts within IT Governance. You will be part of Governance management team and report to Head of Governance. You will be responsible for generating business demand on IT and ensure that IT delivers business value to the core business.

You will head the Business Area IT council and will be included as the Business Area representative in the Saab IT governance structure. As Business Area representative in Saab IT governance, you will represent all Business Units from Surveillance. In the Business Area IT council, you have to implement the common goals from Saab IT as well as collect the standpoints from Surveillance Business Units regarding business demand on IT. IT security solutions implemented on Business Units shall also be discussed to secure cooperation’s within the Business Area. 

You will collaborate with the executive management team and decision makers within BA to identify, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of IT. You will approve and prioritize BA IT budget, major IT projects, applications and investments within BA in collaboration with BA IT Council.

To secure the cost efficiency in our IT environment you will be head of the Surveillance budget review of common IT cost and negotiate the yearly budget, to be followed up on quarterly basis.

The position requires frequent traveling between Gothenburg and Jarfalla, other Saab sites in Sweden as well as international travel.  

Your skills and experience

  • Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a business oriented and technical IT discipline, preferably with a background including software engineering within R&D
  • Your skill within IT governance/management and your skills in leading staff must be documented
  • You are an engaged team player, able to motivate and willing to “walk the extra mile”
  • Strong business understanding and customer focus
  • Recognized ability to build relationships with other managers and team
  • Proven social and communication skills
  • Change & Result oriented and determined to improve our IT in regards of quality, security, cost and business value.
