What you will be a part of

Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.

This position is within the RF Sub-Systems department.

Your role

  • Plan, Manage, Design, Execute and Support of the development effort of RF modules and sub-systems from concept through to Production Readiness
  • Take design responsibility for allocated RF LRUs and RF Sub-systems
  • Perform requirements definitions and allocations, functional analysis and sub-systems synthesis. Derive lower level component requirements
  • Requirements owner of the test environment of designated RF products as well as monitoring of test infrastructure development to ensure that the required test coverage is achieved
  • Product Baseline Management of existing and new products
  • Assist in the planning and management of the technical development process and monitor technical performance
  • Be the technical interface to internal customers for assigned projects
  • Coordinate and participate in system integration and test activities to achieve a system qualification
  • Create and maintain documentation for Design, Planning, Requirements, Specifications Test and Results

Your skills, experience and qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering R&D and product development environment
  • At least 1 year of experience in the RF/Microwave environment (development of RF modules, LRUs and sub-systems
  • Demonstrate UHF to Ka band design will be an advantage
  • Experience in the use of RF simulation tools (preferably Microwave Office/VSS) will be an advantage
  • RF and Microwave design knowledge
  • Basic wideband RF receiver system architecture exposure
  • Specialised RF and EM simulation tool chain knowledge
  • Exposure to System Engineering and Product Development processes
  • Basic knowledge of and experience in the Product life-cycle process will be an advantage
  • Good RF metrology exposure

Qualifications

  • Minimum is B.Eng. Electronic or an equivalent qualification
  • MSc.Eng focussed in Radio Frequency will be a definite advantage
  • Electronic Warfare knowledge and experience (especially in RADAR EW) will be an advantage
