Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
Saab Traffic Management (TM) serves marine and air traffic customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. There are two operating units within TM: Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) solutions include Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), port and vessel traffic management information systems (VTMIS), hydrographics, and precision navigation; Air Traffic Management (ATM) provides airport surface safety and efficiency systems and tools, tower automation and advanced research, development and evaluation solutions. In the Operations department of Saab Technologies, all solutions to functional challenges are defined, designed, implemented, integrated and tested. Operations department consists of an enthusiastic team of software engineers, systems engineers, product managers and support engineers, organized in four Scrum development teams of right now five engineers. Responsibility of supplying the overall solution lies with the development teams. The final software products of Saab Technologies are applied in various (complex) projects and maintenance contracts, nationally and internationally, on the area of Vessel Traffic Services, Offshore Platform Protection, Coastal Surveillance systems in the maritime segment.
We currently have an opening for a Software Engineer for the Operations department.
You are responsible for the design, architecture, development, documentation and integration of software solutions, as part of a small, multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals. Our software and its development process is customer-value driven, to supply internationally 24/7 operated products that provide safety, efficiency and security.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in Software Engineering;
- 4-10 years relevant experience as software engineer and technical insight;
- You communicate fluently in Dutch and English;
- Preferred affinity in Maritime environment;
- Analytical, self-driven, flexible, creative and result oriented;
- Experience in C++;
- Dutch residency or work permit / visa / citizenship in the Netherlands;
- Knowledge of UML, Scripting (bash), Linux. SCRUM
