DCAST comprises the following functionality:
Battle Tek IV: Constructive Simulation System: Each Role Player, Exercise Manager and the Database/System Manager is equipped with the BattleTek IV Software Suite.
9Land Battlefield Management System (BMS): Each workplace is equipped with the 9Land BMS software, making it possible for the Exercise Managers, Trained Staff and Role Players to interact with a real operational command & control system.
Vehicle Simulation -Desktop Generic: The Vehicle Simulation displays a virtual picture of the simulated environment to the Trainee during exercises.
BattleTek IV is a constructive simulation system which enables the training of headquarter staff from tactical to operational levels. It is capable of multi-player,
multi-forces exercises, has a comprehensive After Action Review (AAR) capability, is scalable and contains a fully integrated Geographic Information System (GIS) functionality with 2D map view.
Effective in both conventional scenarios or Operations Other Than war (OOTW).
Higher commanders have a view from their own position or can be equipped with a combined view depending upon the exercise objectives.
