What you will be a part of

Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.

Business Unit Combat Systems and C4I Solutions (Control, Command, Communication, Computer and Intelligence) provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and traffic management systems.

Our Data Fusion products currently provide unique selling points in our major command and control systems in the air and naval domain. This is managed through use of data from several sources in order to produce a high quality situation picture for operators in e.g. an Air Defence Center.

Your role

Saab, together with RISE SICS (Swedish Institute of Computer Science) develop algorithms and functionality that based on high-level goals, calculates desired Service Level Agreement (SLAs) on the technical services included in system of system solution. We are currently implementing a "Proof of Concept" of these mechanisms to define how communication resources will be prioritized given high-level goals. The next step is to ensure that communication is prioritized in accordance with the policies that these algorithms provide. The challange is to ensure that provided policies are enforced in the system, this can happen with e.g. QoS on IP level, changes of access rights or to provide different policiesto the applications.

Proposed thesis work aims to find a model that, based on given policies, ensures that system communication is used according to the given priorities. This in a complex environment with a large number of nodes and services using different communication patterns. #LI-DNP

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you with the following qualifications:

  • Master of science in Computer science or similar qualifications within area relevant for managing technical services in a distributed computer Environment.
  • Experience from and an interest in system design and programming.
  • You like teamwork and are actively seeking information as well as sharing knowledge and experience.
