The primary role of the Saab EU & NATO Affairs Office is to support and strengthen our company’s existing and future business, in Europe and globally. Our day-to-day work entails e.g. information gathering and situation analysis, early alerts and advocacy actions regarding new opportunities and challenges in legislative and policy developments at EU and national level of relevance to defence, security, space and aeronautics.
We are now looking for an intern to join our Brussels office for a period of six months.
Your role will essentially be split in two parts: You will support the Office with monitoring, research, analysis, reports, and to closely follow the work of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council, in various areas of interest to the company, and in particular in regards to defence and security policy. This part will also entail proofreading, drafting updates, newsletters, papers, presentations etc. The second part entails administrative support such as preparing meetings, assisting visitors groups as well as supporting the Head of Office.
The ideal candidate should have a university degree in social sciences, law, economics, engineering or business administration with a specialisation (postgraduate) diploma of relevance to the EU institutional environment.
Having completed a traineeship (‘stage’) with the European Commission or any other EU Institution is considered an advantage.
We are looking for candidates with one of the Nordic languages as mother tongue or mother tongue equivalent, and who are fluent in English. Fluency in French is considered an advantage.
We expect you to be highly motivated, have an eye for detail and eager to learn and develop in your role as intern at our office. You are expected to have the social skills and abilities to proactively engage and interact with colleagues and relevant stakeholders in Brussels as well as in Sweden and other countries of relevance to Saab.
You will report directly to the Head of Office.
