Why did you apply to the graduate programme?

I applied to the programme because I thought it would be a great way into the company as well as into a controller role. I liked the idea of getting an overall perspective of the business and understanding how divisions within the company work and interact. The fact that Saab is a world-leading company and continuing to grow was also something that appealed to me.

What is it like to be a graduate at Saab?

It is really fun! You get to see many different parts of the organization, from Production to Finance and from Sweden to many of Saab’s abroad sites. This opens up for a lot of learning opportunities and ways to challenge yourself. I would also say that having other graduates going alongside you on this journey is one of the greatest advantages of the programme.

What have you gained from participating in the graduate programme?

Apart from gaining a comprehensive understanding of Saab as a whole and learning about specific roles, the most important benefit of the programme is the global network you get. Naturally, you will meet many new people during the programme, something that is both fun and invaluable for your future career.

Is the program what you expected it to be like? Why or why not?

In many ways the programme has exceeded my expectations. What I perhaps did not expect was that I got responsibility from day one, running my own project, as well as being able to influence the structure of the programme myself. I appreciate having this kind of freedom as a graduate while at the same time having full support from my home department.

What is it like to work at Saab?

Working at Saab means working at an international company at the forefront of technology, which is very exciting. Saab is also a great company from an employee perspective. There are so many opportunities to develop if you are ambitious and willing. The work culture is welcoming and committed. All of this makes me happy and proud to work at Saab!
