For your batchelor thesis you and a fellow student have the chance to design a new fuel jet pump solution for Gripen E!

Your role

You will be a designer working mainly with Installation design. Your main deliverable is a full Catia V5 model of a new jet pump solution for the Gripen E fuel system. To achive your objective you will also perform stress calculations and collaborate with other disciplines.

Your new solution will consider the following:

  • System function requirements
  • Design requirements
  • Number of installation articles reduction
  • Weight reduction
  • Production requirements
  • Stress requirements
  • Cost

Your profile

This Batchelor thesis is suitable for two students. You are studying mechanical engineering or similar and are about to start your Batchelor Thesis work. You are interested in solving technical problems in aeronautical systems. We are looking for team players enjoying collaboration within the team as well as with external contacts.

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written
  • Very good social skills
  • Strong personal drive
  • Interest in both theoretical and practical problem solving
  • Interest in deign engineering
  • At least baseic CAD course completed

You will collaborate with experienced mechanical design engineers in an environment that fosters career development and personal growth. You will be part of the Mechanical Installation Design unit which is responsible for the development and design of the installation of all the mechanical systems in our aircraft. In addition to the fuel system this includes landing gear, hydraulics and ECS systems among others. Mechanical Installation Design is part of the business area Aeronautics.

This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.
