Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
Business Unit (BU) Surface Radar Solutions has global responsibility for Saab’s surface radar systems, ground based as well as naval. It has offices around the world, with the largest sites being Gothenburg (Sweden) and Syracuse (USA). The BU has around 700 employees. Surface Radar Solutions also has local offices in London, Seoul, Prague, Adelaide, Halifax and Singapore.
The unit is organized in self-organized teams. The teams has complete responsibility towards the customer over time and takes responsibility for the Order Intake, Sales and Project Margins.
The teams work closely with the product and capability management unit Domains and development unit Engineering within Surface Radar Solutions.

Surface Radar Solutions is now looking for Customer Project Managers!

As a member of a team, your work will cover the phases from marketing & sales to project execution taking responsibility for the project management from proposal to delivery and follow-on support.
We expect the Customer Project Manager to take an active part in the team contributing with project management aspects and experience to any tasks given to the team such as business set up, contracts, pricing and system engineering. All team members also have a joint responsibility for developing the team.
As Customer Project Manager, your responsibilities would include:
- Project definition and bid preparations
- Active sales team member including team interaction with customers and partners as well as Marketing Area and Saab management
- Project management during the execution phase of contracts
- Interface towards our customers during execution and responsible for fulfillment of contract including negotiations
- Ensure short and long term profitability of the projects and secure that the goals are fulfilled
- Challenge the organization to continuously improve in order to contribute to increased efficiency in our operations
- Inform and establish commitment for the project in the organization in order to meet the customers’ expectations and to ensure commercial success of your projects
The work is of an event driven nature where both initiative and the ability to evaluate situations and options are needed, sometimes in a time critical manner.
Your skills and experience
You have a technical background and leadership experience with focus on business and customer understanding. You have a financial understanding and experience from project management and contract negotiations are highly qualifying.
You are comfortable working both independently within your field of competence as well as with other interfaces in order to secure quality, to meet directives and deadlines.
You are a team player, willing to walk the extra mile for your team and its objectives. We believe you do have drive, perseverance and an interest for understanding the circumstances and conditions relevant for each customer solution and business case.
You have excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English. You are prepared to travel and learn new things and you easily find yourself in different environments and cultures.
The position entails working with classified information. Therefore, you are required to participate in and pass a security test conducted by authority.
