Your role

During the programme, you will get the opportunity to create an overall understanding of the company that will prepare you for an exciting future together with us. Your development will be aligned with Saab’s business goals and the programme will enable you to contribute to our business and take part in actual projects.

As project manager at Research and Development you will be working with project management in a changing technical environment in a dynamic organization. Several projects are large and complex and include both design of hardware and software and/or procurement of products and services from Swedish or foreign suppliers. Some projects are smaller and more focused on concept or research studies.

The work is performed in teams with competent and supportive coworkers who quickly include you in the daily routines.

In our modern development environment you will be part of the development, in different ways, through all phases from concept and design to verification and validation.

You will be able to develop your project management skills. We share experiences and knowledge within the company as well as attend external courses for continuous improvement.

Your profile

To apply for this program you have a maximum of 2 years work experience.

You have a solid educational technical background, preferably a Master of Science within industrial economics or similar. A merit is experience of project management or similar within the area of development of complex systems.

To be successful in a role as Project Manager you have to be good at building relations. You understand the need to communicate, initiate and handle changes. You are comfortable working both independently within your field of competence as well as with other interfaces in order to drive the development. 

We believe you do have drive, perseverance and an interest for understanding the circumstances and conditions relevant for the development projects and the business case related to the customer needs.

This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

What you will be a part of

For more than a year, you will participate in an international programme that is uniquely designed to boost your career and develop knowledge around key areas for the basics of leadership. From day one, you will be appointed to a position with permanent employment at one of Saab’s sites worldwide.

Research and Development department is one of the largest and advanced development centers within Sweden. The department develop and integrate nearly all systems (including training, mission and support systems) for the world class fighter aircraft GRIPEN E/F and also systems for other platforms like T-7A Red Hawk and Global Eye.

Research and Development department contains 1400 employees and is a part of Business area Aeronautics. Aeronautics head quarter is placed in Linköping but there are several other sites like Arboga and Gavião Peixoto Brazil. System development also includes partners and vendors worldwide. 

You will work in the Project Management Office within the R/D department.

Recruitment Process

The advertisement period is November 4th – January 10th with ongoing selection. When you apply, you will be directed to another page where you can add your resume together with personal letter and other documents.

  1. First step in our recruitment process is to conduct a couple of psychological tests, which you will be invited to through e-mail once you have applied. We use tests as part of the process in order to make the most quality-assured and fair assessment as possible.
  2. The selection period is in January 2020 and beginning of February 2020. Please note that video and telephone interviews may be used further into the selection period. 
  3. If you are one of the lucky ones to come to this stage, you will be invited to the recruitment days where you will meet the hiring manager and other applicants. This is mandatory and will be conducted during 2nd – 6th of March 2020. Please write in your application that you will be able to take part in the recruitment days.

Please note that other interviews and a security screening also will take place during the process.
