As Head of Ship you will, together with your management team of ten section managers and area project managers, lead a team of approx. 100 engineers. Together with your team, you will be accountable for project deliveries according to budget and plans, as well as for short and long-term competence and resource plans within the area. In order to be at the leading edge of our market, it is imperative to improve our ways of working, and it is therefore a major part of your role to drive continuous improvements. You will lead the work within Kockums R&D and interface with many different stakeholders such as customers, vendors and other business areas within Saab.
Your staff being located in Malmö and Karlskrona, requires frequent travels between these offices. Travels abroad are limited but might occur depending on projects. Reporting to the Vice President Head of R&D Saab Kockums, you will be part of the R&D management team as well as leading your own. The expectations on delivery are high as well as our trust in you and your willingness to perform at your best!
You have proven leadership skills, the ability to cooperate and navigate in an organization developing and maintaining advanced products. You provide your team with a clear direction, inspire them and keep them focused on objectives. Since you are leading an area with high technical complexity, you have an ability to understand and analyze data presented to you and do sound and rational judgments based on them. As a member of a management team, you enjoy taking initiative, making things happen and taking responsibility for the results.
- Proven record of leading large projects and developing and leading successful teams.
- Experience of acting as Manager with full personnel responsibility.
- Knowhow in creating innovative and effective ways of working and methods.
- Experience of interacting with various operating units e.g. production and pursue a common agenda.
- Capability to translate strategies into operative plans.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish.
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Broad network within the Saab organization outside of Kockums as well as knowledge and understanding of Saab processes and tools, products and organization.
- Experience of leading advanced technological development in an industrial, preferably global company.
- Experience in working with The Swedish Armed Forces and/or the Defence Material Administration (FMV)
- Having managed and lead other managers.
