Reconnaissance is a vital piece of many air missions and may involve different sources such as advanced sensors and live video feeds. Large amount of data is collected, analyzed, and summarized into reconnaissance reports. A single mission may result in hours of video and thousands of images, which would require a significant manual workload to process. Artificial intelligence could be utilized to reduce this workload.
Your task is to examine the current state of art of artificial intelligence in the field of image recognition, and implement a prototype for applying such techniques in the context of air reconnaissance.
This master thesis will be performed at the department for Air Mission Planning and Analysis Systems in Arboga. We develop ground-based support systems, used for planning and analysis of missions for aircrafts, helicopters and unmanned platforms.
We are looking for an engineering or master student that is in the last year of a technical education aimed at AI/ML and software development.
