As a mechanical designer at Vehicle Systems, you and the group will be responsible for our product development during customer projects and our own R&D. The development is done in close collaboration with the department’s electronics designers and the prototype workshop.
Our projects are relatively short, so you will be part of the whole process from idea to verification of the finished product. Our products are used in harsh environments, both mechanical and environmental, so the mechanical design must fulfill the requirements.
Tasks will include:
- Mechanical design and modelling with Autodesk Inventor
- Detail design, assembly- and layout drawings
- Concept studies of new ideas (3D-printing and prototyping)
- Hands-on verification of designs
- Keep in close contact with suppliers

You are structured and have an analytical mindset enabling you to adapt to changed circumstances.
- An academic degree within mechanical design (or equivalent experience)
- Work experience from mechanical design
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbally and written
If you have experience with Autodesk Inventor, it is considered an advantage.
What you will be a part of
Department Vehicle Systems develops and supports advanced vehicle-based electronics and sensor systems for demanding environments on international markets. The department has about 75 employees and is based in Linköping.
You will be a part of the Engineering section and the Technical Services group, consisting of electronic designers, mechanical designers, software developers and test and validation engineers. Operations include system integration, development of embedded computer systems and customer support in areas such as computer technology, advanced video transmission, displays and sensor integration.
