As an System Engineer in the Automation section at Saab Kockums, your focus will be on the specification, design, documentation and testing of automation systems for submarines and/or surface vessels.
Your main work tasks:
- Gain an understanding of the functionality of ship systems under development.
- Develop and maintain system and hardware architecture for automation systems.
- Develop and update system design and system test documentation.
- Collaborate with the automation software team to determine software requirements and functionality.
- Conduct and participate in reviews.
- Perform integration and testing of automation systems.
The Automation section operates from both Malmö and Karlskrona and some work travels between these sights is required.

What you will be a part of
The Automation Section at Saab Kockums delivers automation for submarines and surface vessels across all phases of the system development lifecycle. The section consists of a group of more than 30 skilled engineers who collaborate to create automation solutions operating in the some of the most complex environments in the world. The section drives the development of control systems that monitor and control the submarine's steering system as well as ship mechanical systems such as pumps, hydraulic systems, diesel engines and cooling systems. This results in enhanced ship situation awareness, decision support and fault management for the platform.
