What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions.
You will be part of the System Architecture unit within Signal Processing. We work at system level with near transmitter/ receiver parts and signal processing with RWR / ESM / ELINT / ECM products. The development of the new EW system to Gripen E is one of our major projects where many of us work, but we also work with air and ground-based electronic tracking Products.
Today we are 18 employees in System Architecture. The majority are system engineers or technical project managers/ team leaders, but there are also two specialists. The unit is responsible for the Reuse Forum, to ensure reuse within EW Systems. We are also responsible some of our SE processes and we are driving methods and tools for requirement handling and modelling (MBSE).
The cooperative working culture, the EW Spirit, is the foundation on which we stand on and is the key to our success and contribution to Saab.
Your role will be to work in projects as a system engineer. Typical tasks for us are to specify requirements, support developers, investigations, define transmitter and receiver system performance and algorithms, and analyze results from simulations and field tests.
We contribute also in costings and quotes. The work involves contacts with large parts of the business, both within EW Systems and other parts of Surveillance and Aeronautics. Some of us works with products that are operational at customer level and have opportunities to work with our customers and end users.
Your skills and experience
As a person, you are driven and flexible and feel responsible for both small and large tasks. You should be interested in understanding both technical details and what affect system performance at system level, and you would like to share your knowledge with your colleagues. You can take either formal or informal leadership roles.
You should have studied microwave technology and / or signal processing. Experiences in Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar, System Design, System Architecture and Signal Processing are meritorious. Your skills in Swedish and English are good both in speech and Writing.
You have probably a Master of Science in Engineering, Technical Physics or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and/or successfully demonstrate eligibility to receive applicable Government security clearance(s).
