Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions, and traffic management systems.
Our business area is growing rapidly and has several parallel projects running where there is a great potential for own development and possibility to change the assignment.
Saab Surveillance builds, among other things, secure operating platforms for customers with high demands on IT-security. Systems used by the armed forces are subjected to intense scrutiny by the intelligence services and are expected to conform to the highest security standards. Such systems typically consists of functions for disk protection, access control, protection against harmful code, system hardening and more.
You will be located at SAAB Surveillance (Järfälla), which will provide supervision concerning the development and provide necessary software tools.
The goal of the thesis is to evaluate some tools for virtual machines (hypervisors or sandboxes) on Windows 10 with respect to security performance. A number of tools should be selected including Microsoft Hyper-V. How to configure them to comply with strict security requirements should be investigated. They should be practically evaluated against some well-known attacks on virtualization engines. Theoretically the compliance with security standards should be analyzed, specifically with regards to isolation of applications.
Your skills and experience
We believe that you are a motivated student with a strong interest in computer security. Furthermore, familiarity with Windows systems will be helpful. In addition, you are fluent in spoken and written Swedish.
This position includes access to classified information, therefore you are required to conduct a security screening in accordance with the Protective Security Act and be approved for security clearance by the authority.
