Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions.
Our Cyber Security business unit develops products and services to increase the level of cyber security in Saabs portfolio. The rapid ongoing digitalization demands continuously improved and updated cyber security capability and data protection to maintain the privacy, integrity and availability of data and systems.
We develop a cloud based platform that takes full advantage of the benefits of virtualisation without compromising cyber security including tool chains that enables continuous compliance with high release velocity.
Right now we are introducing our platform to our customers and helping them with the on-ramping. To make the system efficient and secure we need to virtualise and redesign their products together with them.
As a virtualisation engineer working with our cloud based platform and our customers you are expected to take responsibility for everything from system architectural questions to implementation and verification on an everyday basis. You will actively survey the open source community for solutions to our challenges while balancing the need for stability in the implementation. The platform you will be working with implements heavy security measures within authentication, encryption, and audit mechanisms, but also serves as an efficient platform for high velocity in large scale product development.
You will work closely with our development teams and our customers to migrate existing applications and services to our cloud platform through virtualisation and containerisation, and provide expert knowledge in their process of developing new services cloud native.
Your skills and experience
Relevant university degree
• Masters degree in Computer Science or other equivalent background
Relevant knowledge of:
• Virtualisation and containerisation techniques and tools
• Open source collaboration
• DevOps techniques and tools
• Storage solutions
• Scripting languages
• Agile method
To be successful you need to have expert knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes, containers, hypervisors, microservices and scaling network solutions through software defined networks. You also need to understand the pain points our customers experience in migrating their services and how to best counter those. An ability to navigate between relevant stakeholders in the receiveing organisation is expected.
