Saab Aerospace to shed 272 personnel

Negotiations between Saab Aerospace and the trade unions are now
Of the 350 people given notice on 4 June this year, 272 employees will
leave the company. Of these, 23 are being offered retirement pension.

To help make it as easy as possible for those affected to find new jobs,
Saab Aerospace has developed a support package in consultation with the
trade unions and the outplacement company TRR Trygghetsrådet.

"I am glad we could conduct negotiations basically within the set time
frame. All employees can now be given a firm decision on their future,
and we can focus on building up the new business areas Saab Aerosystems,
Saab Aerostructures and Saab Support Linköping. We will also be helping
the people who have been given notice as much as we can, to help them
find new jobs," says Hans Krüger, head of Saab Aerospace.

The reason for the job losses is a reduction in employment due to a
reduced workload on the development side.

"The personnel reductions are largely due to the fact that we have no
new orders for future-oriented development projects from the Swedish
Armed Forces," Hans Krüger explains.

Saab is one of the world's leading high-technology companies, with its
main operations focusing on defence, aviation and space. The group
covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems
