Saab Wins US Army Training Contract Worth USD 14 million

Saab Training Systems AB of Huskvarna, Sweden was awarded a firm fixed
price contract for $14M to deliver six instrumentation systems by the US
Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and
Instrumentation (PEO STRI).
"This is the first order from mainland US for Saab Training Systems'
deployable instrumentation training systems (DITS). For us it means the
break through for our system as a viable candidate for the future home-
station instrumented training system (HITS) requirement", says Johan
Ohlson, President, Saab Training Systems.
Four similar DITS systems have been used extensively by the US Army in
Europe for several years for deployed training in Germany, Poland and in
the Czech Republic. The systems combine state of the art communication;
computer and control technology with the standard MILES laser based
devices as well as Saab's precision laser simulators for gunnery and
Saab Training Systems develops, manufactures and markets advanced
military training equipment such as laser simulator systems,
instrumented training systems and target equipment, and provides service
and maintenance for training systems.
