Saab is working determinedly to promote women in business and aims to have
30 percent female managers in 2015.
“We are on track to achieve our goals, but we have much work left to do. Above all, we need to increase the base of women in the company. Today we have 22 percent women in total and we need many more”, says Mikael Grodzinsky, Head of Group Human Resources.
Through the daily work with gender equality and diversity in all business processes, Saab accelerates the integration of more qualified women in the company. But diversity and gender equality is not an end in itself. It is rather the means to take advantage of individual and organizational resources in order to remain competitive in an international market.
To address gender and diversity issues like any other business-critical issue is a natural way to get the right focus.
“In business, we set goals for everything we want to achieve and then we closely follow up progress and rewards for results. Set the goal - follow up - reward. At current speed it will take 70 years before Sweden's equal. There is not a company that accepts such lead times. So why should we do it with gender equality and diversity”, says Lena Olving, Deputy CEO and COO.
Veckans Affärer’s award is a confirmation that Saab is on the right track and it will certainly boost the work Saab is doing on gender equality.
