Saab's products made an impression when Sweden's newly appointed Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Inger Ultvedt, paid a visit to Saab in Linköping last week.
Inger Ultvedt took up her new post as Sweden's Ambassador to the Czech Republic in September, and during her visit to Linköping, Saab wished to demonstrate the Saab Group's strength and breadth in terms of both expertise and products.

"For me it seemed important to learn more about the production and Saab, especially since Sweden and the Czech Republic have such close relations. My visit to Saab was interesting and truly exciting. I was greatly impressed to see all the advanced technology contained in Gripen, and I was also impressed by how the offset commitments span such a wide spectrum, with so many industries and jobs in the Czech Republic," says Ultvedt.
Visits and informative briefings
The schedule included visits to Saab's production and a number of informative briefings about Saab and Gripen generally, but primarily concerning Saab and the Gripen programme in the Czech Republic and regarding Saab's offset commitments in the country. The Ambassador also visited the simulator and Gripen's final assembly facilities, and even got to sit in a complete and powered-up aircraft.
"We are delighted that the Ambassador chose to come to Saab so soon after assuming her post. Gripen and Saab represent a major part of the relations between Sweden and the Czech Republic," says Bengt Littke, Programme Director for Gripen in the Czech Republic.

A world leader
"Sweden is successful within the defence industry and it became clear that we are a world leader in these areas. I am very proud that our innovation and technology is so strong. I look forward to a continuing positive and progressive cooperation with Saab in this area," Ultvedt concludes.
