When the Waddington International Air Show where held this summer at Royal Air Force (RAF) Waddington in UK, the Gripen display pilot Michal Daněk from the Czech Air Force won the trophy for the most accurate and polished flying display during the show.
The competition was judged by the Flying Control Committee, made up of experts from multiple aviation backgrounds. This years Committee contained former Red Arrows pilots, former BBMF* pilots and other ex RAF pilots as well as airspace specialists and representatives from the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
The competition was open to all those who were flying on at the air show, some 36 participants. The display was judged on accuracy, dynamics, presentation and adherence to the display lines and heights.
