Saab at NATO Days 2011

Saab will participate as general partner at NATO Days 2011 on September 24 and 25 at Mošnov Airport in Ostrava, the Czech Republic.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see the Gripen fighter on static display nearby the Saab stand as well as a fly past by Czech Air Force Gripens shortly after the event’s opening ceremony.

“We are pleased to be returning to NATO Days as the general partner for the second year running, and we look forward to showcasing the Gripen on both static and fly-by displays, thanks to the pilots from Čáslav,” says Daniel Boestad, Saab’s Vice-President for Central and Eastern Europe.

Saab’s artillery locator radar system, Arthur, has been selected by the Czech army, and Saab has also been selected to provide public security systems for the Prague metro.

“Saab has a significant presence in the Czech Republic, with more than 120 employees, “ adds Daniel Boestad.

In February of this year, Saab signed an agreement to acquire Slavkov-based company E-COM, which develops and produces virtual simulators. E-COM has delivered many different simulators to the Czech army and has achieved export success to customers in the US, Germany and Singapore.
