Saab has received an order for multiple ranges of the next generation of targets for the U.S. Army Targetry Systems II program (ATS II). In connection with receiving the order for multiple ranges Saab also signed a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) framework contract with the U.S. Army Contracting Command.
The five year framework contract has a ceiling value of MUSD 475 with five contractors bidding for delivery orders for more than one hundred ranges around the world to support the U.S. Forces.
“Our new US designed generation of targets has been created to meet the rapidly changing requirements of a digital army. We are fielding state of the art targets and ranges for forces at their homestations or when deployed. The ATS II ranges will improve the gunnery and maneuver training immediately”, says Lars Borgwing, Managing Director for Saab Training USA.
Saab delivered the first tank target to the U.S. Army in 1978 and has since delivered more than one thousand targets for over one hundred ranges. As a major contractor for the Army Targetry System (ATS) program since 2002, and the sole source supplier to the Marine Corps for the Range Target System program, Saab has a long tradition of providing reliable and high technology targets for the newest ranges fielded today.
Saab Training USA, a part of Saab AB, is located in the Central Florida’s Research Park in Orlando.
