Meet Saab at this year’s Defense & Security, 6–9 November in Bangkok, Thailand. At the exhibition Saab will showcase our ground breaking products, services and solutions – including Gripen the smart fighter, Airborne Surveillance and the 9AIR C4I family.


Visitors are welcome at our stand E1 to discover how our combination of innovative thinking, in-depth knowledge and design provide smarter solutions that enhance our customer’s capabilities on land, at sea, and in the air.

Saab is dedicated to long-term engagement in Thailand and enjoys good relations with all arms of the Thai defense forces. The country has been among the top ten markets for Saab over an extended period of time, and Saab opened its Bangkok office in 1998. Our partnership with the Royal Thai Armed Forces encompasses air, land and naval products and solutions. We are also proud to be engaged in the Thai civil defense sector. Saab believes that the key to such a great partnership lies in our long-term commitment, as well as in the transfer of technology. That’s why we use our thinking edge to find innovative ways to share intelligent ideas and solutions for new and existing technology.

At Defense & Security 2017 we will exhibit the Gripen smart fighter and visitors will be able to experience the Gripen cockpit simulator. Saab will also showcase the 9AIR Compact C2, part of the Saab C4I family that provides complete control for all weapons, sensors and communications. Also on display are the Erieye AEW&C wide-area surveillance system, the RBS 70 NG new generation air defense missile system and the Giraffe 1X AESA surveillance radar system. Ground combat systems will be represented by the Carl-Gustaf man-portable, multi-role weapon and the AT4 lightweight anti-armor weapon.

Saab activities at Defense & Security 2017

Saab will host a technical seminar: ‘Building a Better Air Force – How Systems-of-Systems Deliver Effects and Efficiency’. Brigadier General Arne Hedén (ret.), will highlight how our Gripen fighter’s unique in-built upgrade capability is the perfect example of the system-of-systems approach. He will also discuss how simulation and command-and-control supports net-centric solutions as a critical element in the strategic development of air forces.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday 7 November, 13:00-13:45at Amber 3 (opposite Hall 5).
