Saab University Day 2018 A hangar packed with talent

Scholars gathered by the hundreds as our day for tech students took place in Linköping, Sweden. “Great and rewarding”, says Noah, one of the visitors.

Close relationships with universities is vital for Saab, and according to the annual Universum employer brand poll Saab remains a strong and attractive employer among technology students – which showed as hundreds of visiting students from technological schools in Sweden turned up for our University Day on 11 April to see and hear our story, learn of our products – and not least our mission: to keep people and society safe. They were quite keen on documenting the event. Check Instagram for #joinsaab - or see below.

Worth the wait. Standing in line for a feel of a top modern fighter in a full scale replica of Gripen.

Noah Holm is doing his final year as a Msc student on The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, his major being Geoinformation technology.

How would you sum up Saab University Day?
“A great combination of product display, networking and insights on Saab and the defence industry.“

During the day the visiting students got to see and try on a wide range of products – everything from a field hospital to climbing into a full scale replica of Gripen.

"At the same time we got to meet Saab staff from all over Sweden and from various business areas – and got the chance of asking whatever we wanted to know regarding products and Saab in general.”

“A new insight for me is the Saab product portfolio, which showed to be much bigger and wider than I thought – and of course it’s always cool to see and learn more of Gripen.“

So, all together – your view of Saab after this day?

“To me Saab is an employer that will give you the possibility of working with high tech products and that offers a wide range of tasks. I’d like to thank you for a great and rewarding day. It's clear you value students. I appreciate that.“
